A Blog about Retail Supplies and more!
This happened a few weeks ago, but we still feel a need to mention it, as it involves the man most deserving to be holding a Monarch 1131 price tagging gun: The original host of television’s The Price Is Right, Bob Barker.
The former host was recently hospitalized after he collapsed while at a gun range (real guns, not tagging guns, for the record). After a short stay at a hospital, Barker is alledgedly doing fine and in good spirts, according to USA Today.
Now at the age of 86 (closest without going over), Barker was apparently shooting his (real, not tagging) gun at the range when he suddenly fainted, according to observers. His stay at the hospital didn’t last long, thankfully, and he returned to his home the same night. A publicist of the former host told representatives from TMZ that a blood thinner Barker is taking caused him to become dehydrated.
On a personal note, we’re glad to hear Barker is doing well. Although Drew Carey has been great as the new host, Barker will obviously always have a special place in our hearts, if not for his time on The Price Is Right, than for his cameo appearance as himself in the Adam Sandler film Happy Gilmore… in which he physically assaults the films main character.
Barker’s last television appearance was in an episode of WWEs “Monday Night Raw.”
