Perdue Not Using the Correct Pricing Labels
Before you pick up that price tagging gun, make sure you’re labeling your items correctly or you could get sued. An animal rights activist has her eyes set on Perdue Farms Inc. and is suing the company for mislabeling their chicken. The lawsuit claims that Perdue labels some of their products “humanely raised” and charges more money for them. However, the woman suing says these animals aren’t being humanly raised, yet they cost more than the other products. Naturally Perdue says these allegations are completely false and they always meet or exceed USDA standards.
The plaintiff says she has “suffered” because she bought higher priced meat that was no different from the lower priced meat. I don’t how much this woman actually “suffered,” but I’m sure she did waste a few dollars if these allegations are correct. Perdue is such a well-known name and I’m not sure these allegations have any merit. However, it’s a poor excuse to sue regardless. I don’t know if this woman actually has society’s best interest in mind or if she’s just trying to make some quick cash.
Let this be a lesson to always use correct pricing labels. There will always be someone trying to rip you off if you don’t.
