Fresh Ink for Your Monarch 1131

pricing gunReplacement needles, check. New roll of pricing labels, check. Extra ink…? Yes, we often forget that in order for our nice new Monarch 1131 pricing gun to work, we need ink in that bad boy. Otherwise, you’ll have nice smudgy labels and eventually, blank labels. When the ink starts to go, you immediately think it’s a problem with the gun itself or that the labels are jammed. It’s not until three days later that you realize this gun needs an ink refill because that ink has one long life expectancy. I think in the six years at my former store, I replaced the ink only a handful of times.

Smudged ink or barely readable ink will confuse customers. They might think that 7 is a 1 and you’re stuck giving them a cheaper price. Heck, you might not even be able to decipher the real price. Then you’ll waste so much time checking SKU books and asking the rest of the staff if they know how much that item costs. You’ll have one big mess on your hands and customers will not be pleased.

But this can all be avoided if you purchase extra ink and learn how to quickly install a new cartridge in your Monarch 1131.
