When you operate a retail business, you learn that time management is one of the more important assets you can have. Time is literally worth money in many situations. One of those situations is the staff meeting. If you are paying employees 10 dollars an hour and have them sit for three hours of a meeting, then you really need to consider if that time and money lost is worth the data transferred. The idea that the more meetings you have, the better connected your employees are has long been overrated.
Another element that can save you time and money is having the proper equipment in your locations. Think about pricing guns. These guns save you time by letting the customers know the exact price, thus leaving the employees to their assigned tasks. It may seem like a quick 30 second exchange but combine those seconds in the long run and you can be saving a lot of money. You might also want to think about having backup equipment. Every time price labels run out you don’t want to be sitting and waiting for the new supply to be delivered. Have people assigned to making sure there is always extra equipment at hand.
