Kids And Price Tagging Guns
When you are young and a boy, anything you play with that looks or feels like a weapon is captivating, cool and potentially dangerous. My father worked at the local general store when I was a kid. During the day my Mom would occasionally clean houses just to supplement their income. I am super grateful to my parents for their sacrifice not just because they managed to keep me and my bro in private school for a while but because I got to spend whole 
days at the store! That meant hours of coloring, egg sandwiches and playing with the ultimate shopping center plaything: a pricing gun.
I would run up and down the aisles of the store and roll around shooting, or pretending to shoot, pricing labels at tons of fake foes. Sometimes friendly customers would play along, other times less enjoyable customers would get mad and I would be moved back to my coloring books in the storage room. Still I look back at those times really fondly. I liked meeting people. I loved seeing my Dad at work. And I loved that price tagging gun. There was no toy like it in my collection, or that of anyone else I knew.
